Thermoplastic road marking is also referenced to as hot applied road markings.
This paint is a thick coating which is wear resisting, bright, reflective and long lasting. When applied correctly thermoplastic will last for years. Thermoplastic is RMS road approved and is used on all road surfaces as required by RMS standards. Almost all thermoplastic line markings require reflective glass bead installed onto the paint. This is highly effective to ensure visibility at night, anti-skid for tyres as well as general grip for tyres during rainy or icy conditions. Thermoplastic can be produced in any colour and is great to use on roads, car parks, warehouses and other areas that require long lasting line markings.
Thermoplastic is melted at 200 degrees which means it has a fast dry time once applied to any surface. Most thermoplastic markings can be driven on in a matter of minutes.
Thermoplastic line markings are melted at 200 degrees Celsius in burners which are on our trucks. These burners heat the thermoplastic material, we then open the hatch and fill our road marking machines with this melted material. Once this is done we are able to mark the road surfaces.
Before we apply the markings we ensure we have measured the floor and string lined all the locations that need markings. This ensures our thermoplastic road marking is accurate and no mistakes are made as once applied it is a fair process to remove the markings.
